10260 - Andrew Figthorn - Brass patchbox - Patchboxes

10260 - Andrew Figthorn - Brass patchbox

An elegant and simple box design from an original signed rifle by the early maker Andrew Figthorn of Reading Borough, in Berks County, PA. Notice that halfway down the finial, there is a pointed piece on the top and a rounded piece on the bottom of this right handed patchbox. (The opposite of our PB-REEDY-B, which has the pointed piece on the bottom, and the rounded piece on the top). Not engraved, but an engraving pattern will be included. *We have changed our patchbox. The door width is 1 3/16", the door length is 4 1/2" long, the finial width at the hinge is 2", the finial length is 3 1/2", the overall width at the base of the patchbox is 3 3/16". *These dimensions are more in line with the originals that are in most of the books. The availability of better photographs and dimensions has made it possible for us to slowly make improvements to our line of patchboxes.
