Flintlock Fowler

Our fowler stock represents an authentic English influence that can be used to produce the English or American style of early fowling pieces. Extensive engraving and carving of the fowler generally marked true English gentlemen who were, (in England), the only ones who held land and had the luxury of the pastime of hunting! This pre-shaped stock comes standard with a 5/8” round barrel channel (or 3/4" round groove for 12 gauge barrels) and ramrod channel with drilled ramrod hole; and is not cut for buttplate. You will have to fit the octagon portion of your barrel if mounting an octagon to round barrel. English guns were generally produced with all steel mountings with a polished finish, then engraved and carved according to the owners’ wealth. American fowlers were quite simple working guns.
