Patchboxes

No one else in the business makes completely handcrafted and individually fit patchboxes in as many styles in the quality we are so proud to provide. This unique specialty began over thirty years ago and is still produced right here in house by our own master craftsmen. What was true in the Golden Age of these fine rifles, still holds true here with completely hand-made, individually cut, assembled and fit patchboxes for the muzzleloader. This craftsmanship includes all the toeplates, sideplates, patchboxes and custom made inlays which started this whole snowball downhill and turned into what we are today with customers worldwide! And we still take care of you all, one at a time!

An important change is taking place to accurize the patchboxes which make up the original line. Many of these boxes are being copied and produced by others; however, all of our models, both old and new, have been designed to match period rifles. All are made from the finest materials available. Hinges now lay predominately above the wood as were originals, and our hinge fit is the best in the business. We also make custom boxes too! Just call for details and pricing.

Most rifles being produced today are being made in a quality never seen before, with more information available to the builder than ever before. In an effort to make our box line the best, I am constantly adding more which are recreations from originals. This effort will not only produce the best patchboxes on the market but the most extensive as well! Remember that each box we make is completely handcrafted one piece at a time, hinges created to be the tightest possible, and made to fit your needs. Sawn patchboxes are more expensive this way, but a sawn box provides straight vertical edges required in the first step of accurate inletting; allowing for your filed draft for a fit and finish second to none with a true authentic appearance.

Every patchbox we make is made and fit by hand with superior craftsmanship second to none. Close tolerance hinges are just open enough to operate! We are constantly adding brand new styles which duplicate original rifles! Each box we make is available left hand but you must specify at the time of order. Our boxes are made from plate stock in real German Silver and soft yellow brass, .050 thick. Steel boxes are available only on the boxes as listed. A full scale engraving pattern is provided with each box but all boxes are NOT engraved. (Boxes must first be installed prior to engraving) Dimensions given are close but may not be perfectly exact. All boxes are Not Engraved, but are shown and provided with patterns. Cams, springs & instructions provided with each box.
